Bitter memories keep her from returning the love of the kindhearted Prince Ashel, whose family has fended off the tyrant’s invading army for a generation. With wizardry, Vic can rescue the prince, end the war, and wreak the vengeance she craves, but she might also destroy her only chance for peace.

#2 STARS ~ Snoozeville!

A Wizard’s Forge by A.M. Justice has a beautiful book cover. It’s one of the reason I chose to read it. Also it’s a free ARC from Netgalley for an honest review

I desperately wanted to LOVE this book; you have a tortured heroine who is trying to overcome sexual abuse as a child, while trying to find herself.

I really did…I soldier passed 25%, 75%, reaching 80% and wishing I’d just STOP.

The book was totally frustrating! The story plot was interesting, the characters had potential but……

It was torture! At each turn of a page I’m praying for it to be the last. I’m not a quitter but this book really tried my patience. For all the horrors I felt no real connection with the characters.

Victoria doesn’t seem to grow as a character, you know the way characters should when they’ve had horrors in their childhood and they’ve overcome them and become more. She didn’t seem to feel anything strongly even her rage is a little lacklustre.

The Bad Guy Lornk well can’t say I liked him or hated him. I didn’t really feel anything for him. What I really love about bad guys, is that you can get wholeheartedly behind the good guy. With everything flip of the page you anticipating the bad guys downfall. Yeah, not so much with this one

Final Thoughts ~ It wasn’t my CUPPA Tea but other’s have really enjoyed the book. I suppose this is another MARMITE book you either love it or hate.

Scores: 2/5
