Daniel: I’ve always been the good son, the good student, living up to my parents’ high expectations. Never the poet. Or the dreamer. But when I see her, I forget about all that. Something about Natasha makes me think that fate has something much more extraordinary in store—for both of us.

The Universe: Every moment in our lives has brought us to this single moment. A million futures lie before us. Which one will come true?

The Sun Is Also a Star tells the story of Natasha & Daniel. They are polar opposites and how a chance meeting can change everything.

Natasha is Jamaican; her and her family came over to America to live the American dream. Where anything is possible. That her actor father would land many roles and become famous. Regrettably, life doesn’t always turn out the way we’d like it to. Tonight they’re being deported.

Daniel, is the perfect Korean son. His true passion is poetry but you can’t make a living from that. Today is an important day for Daniel. Today is the day he reaches his potential.

They shouldn’t like each other, they’re different and it’s only for today. Once the final strokes have hit midnight Natasha will be returning to the country of her birth.

What I loved/Hated:
I actually really love the plot {I sound surprised!} I could easily have been drawn into it and loved every minute, the only thing I found difficult with the book is its writing style. For me it was a little difficult to connect with the characters, with the switching. Don’t get me know I enjoy the story being told by the characters alot {Have you read the Morgansville Series by Rachel Caine? that’s her style each chapter switches between the main characters} This didn’t feel the same, every time I was starting to make a connection with a character it switch to a supporting character. Maybe its be….maybe I didn’t understand the concept. That being said it was an enjoyable read.

Score: 3/5
