Former Army Ranger Stone Mitchum doesn’t have time for sex. Since starting a company with his brother and two buddies, he’s had more important things on his mind. Like transitioning veterans back into society. But when his curvy new tenant falls into his arms—literally—his libido snaps to attention.
Jovy Larson has four weeks to prove she’s worthy of taking over the family business. Her challenge? Sell gluten-free, vegan food—in the middle of cattle country, Texas. It’s a tough task, but not half as tough as fighting her attraction to her sexy, surly landlord.
Before she knows it, Jovy’s tangling sheets with the hot cowboy, stalked by a jealous cow, and strategizing ways to help Stone’s ranch. But by the time her lease runs out and the test is over, she’s faced with a new challenge…competing against Stone’s sense of duty to win his heart.
I’m a sucker for a cover with a stenson! I mean seriously!? The cover is hot! All that muscle and a sneak peek at a tattoo. SOLD!
Stone is a loveable hero whose personal motto is “brothers in arms first”. The depth of his character and his personality just pop off the page. Jovy is no shrinking violet, her mission in Joyful is to prove a point to her cousin and grandfather. To fulfil a promise she made. What she doesn’t realise is that Joyful would change her dream for the better
Donna Michaels touches on some of the issues that the arm forces face when the return home from war. This novel showcases some of the issues each veteran has to deal with in their own way but also highlights how a community can give back to those who fight.
Yes – I have rated it as 3 Stensons, I liked it but I also thought Donna Michaels could have delved a little deeper into those issues. Don’t get me wrong I love the interactions between Jovy and Stone but felt there was more we could have got from the story. Well – even more that what Donna Michaels gave us and that was quite a bit.
If sexy hunky heroes are your thing…..then you really do have to read In a Ranger’s Arms
