Sex and the City meets The Wedding Planner in The Wedding Belles, a contemporary and witty romance series about three high-powered New York City women who can plan any wedding—but their own.

Advance Praise

LoganAn adorable Brit who is also sexy and intelligent. A great combination, has a surprisingly geeky comparison to a Clark Kent glasses and all! This accountant has hidden depth and hides a romantic soul.

He clearly has the patients of a saint, with that fact that {SPOILER ALERT} he has been in love with Alexis from the very first moment he set eyes on her {Ok, it’s not much of a spoiler, it basically smacks you in the chops when you read their first meeting}

I personally connect to Logan’s character…case in point this thought of his:-

It was the simplest moments that were the most telling, he was realizing. Those everyday moments when you realized what was most important to a person.

As individuals you can’t really change the big stuff, but the little things you do and say now those you can totally control. Those moment are quite telling. They say more about a person’s character I feel.

Alexis – Is so focused on her business and her past troubles, she’s blind to what is right there in front of her! She’s driven, pig-headed and hardheaded all rolled into one. Terrified of being hurt again she’d rather not even try.

I’m not sure that Lauren Layne meant for Alexis to come across as a whiner, a woe is me sort of character, it’s possible that’s my interpretation of Alexis. What I wouldn’t give for a guy like Logan! He’s supported her right from the start and has demanded anything in return.

Summary – To Love and to Cherish is an enjoyable cozy read with well thought out characters. Alexis is a tad annoying and her character development could have been taken further. It’s a delightful read that I couldn’t put it down.

It was intriguing to connect more to the male character in a story rather than the female character. Unintentionally or intentional Logan character had everything rolled into one. Intelligent, caring and attractive without going all ALPHA Male {don’t get me wrong a girl loves alpha males… but its nice to see a story that portrays a different side of the male psyche}

I do feel that Lauren Layne has more to offer, To Love and to Cherish feels like a teaser to something greater. I can’t quite put my finger on what was missing from the story… that certain spark that would take it from a great read to an outstanding memorable read. One that stays with you years down the line.

Score: 4/5
