Going Down Hard (Billionaire Bad Boys, #3)Going Down Hard by Carly Phillips

My rating: 3 of 5 stars Billionaire Bad Boys: Rich, Powerful and sexy as hell.

Publisher’s Summary: Derek West rose from poverty to take the tech world by storm. He’s sexy, confident and gets any woman he wants. And who he wants is Cassie Storm, the rich girl he’s never been good enough for.

She’s desperate to save her family’s company and there’s only one man who can help. But Derek isn’t interested in helping. He wants to possess both the company and the woman he’s never been able to forget.

His plan? To seduce her out of his head. Except once he’s had a taste of Cassie, he doesn’t want to let her go. Her family remembers where he came from, and they won’t allow it. When the truth about their pasts comes to light, though, it may be Cassie who’s going down hard.

*All Billionaire Bad Boys Novels can be read as standalones.*

REVIEW:  Going Down Hard by Carly Phillips is the 3rd installment in her latest series Billionaire Bad Boys. I’m a huge fan of Carly Phillips she had me hooked on small towns with sweet romances for a long time. When I was able to get my hands of an ARC of her book I may have been like this……

BUT I have to say that while I rated the book as 3 Stars, Carly Phillips left me frustrated. Previously she’d created characters of sustenance and they were intriguing. The sex was steamy because it wasn’t the predominant role of the story because the connection between the two main characters had you impatiently turning the pages wanting more.

The character development for the Derek and Cassie are polar opposites. Carly Phillips developed Cassie (or so it seemed) further than Derek. In Cassie was see a strong woman who wants to make things better once she understands what has happened. She’s not just another spoiled rich kid! Derek on the other hand bounces back and forth and as a reader is difficult to make a connection with him. If anything, he’s difficult to love… Carly Phillips has created a character in Derek that we don’t fully understand.

WOULD I RECOMMEND IT? OF COURSE! My beef is down to the fact I have read Carly Phillips previous works before she ventured down this avenue. My personal preference is of her previous writing style rather than her latest works. That being said Going Down Hard is an enjoyable read.
