February Wrap-up [2017]

monthlywrapupbanner

The purpose of this meme is to share our book-haul, favourite books of the month, our reading progression, our principal posts in the past month, books that we discover and we’d like to read in the future and new movies and tv shows! We’d love to see more monthly discoveries and updates on other blogs🙂  CHECK OUT THEIR PREVIOUS POSTS!

This Month’s Reads: I’ve managed to read 21/150 books for Goodreads Challenge 2017. Which isn’t to shabby if I do say so myself. Do you suffer from moods where you just don’t want to read the books that you’ve agreed to read within the timeframe? I’ve had that a lot lately. Real life has also taken over and I’ve had no free time to just sit and enjoy.

This Month’s Planned Reads: This month I’m trying to take it easier on myself. I sent loads of books to read and then by the end of the month I’m disappointed as I’ve not reach my target. February was my major reading slump 😦 I just couldn’t get into anything.

Best of the Bunch is a monthly linkup where we can share the best books we read each month and award one of them “Best of the Bunch.” This blog hop originated at Lyrical Reviews and then moved over to Always Lost in Stories. At the end of 2014, hosting was handed over to A Cocoon of Books.

Frostblood (Frostblood Saga #1)

Frostblood (Frostblood Saga #1)  by Elly Blake (Goodreads Author)  3.9  ·  Rating Details ·  2,414 Ratings  ·  749 Reviews

The Frost King will burn.

Seventeen-year-old Ruby is a Fireblood who has concealed her powers of heat and flame from the cruel Frostblood ruling class her entire life. But when her mother is killed trying to protect her, and rebel Frostbloods demand her help to overthrow their bloodthirsty king, she agrees to come out of hiding, desperate to have her revenge.

Despite her unpredictable abilities, Ruby trains with the rebels and the infuriating–yet irresistible–Arcus, who seems to think of her as nothing more than a weapon. But before they can take action, Ruby is captured and forced to compete in the king’s tournaments that pit Fireblood prisoners against Frostblood champions. Now she has only one chance to destroy the maniacal ruler who has taken everything from her–and from the icy young man she has come to love.

Vivid and compelling, Frostblood is the first in an exhilarating series about a world where flame and ice are mortal enemies…but together create a power that could change everything.
